Sealine Marine Services specialises in marine planning and consultancy on subsea cables

Some of the Key Services available are:

  • Desk studies.
  • Route planning and engineering to take account of burial feasibility, fishing activities, cable and pipeline crossings, hydrocarbon exploitation and other maritime activities.
  • Representing cable operators on Route Working Groups.
  • Pipeline and power cable crossing engineering and negotiation.
  • Provision of Shipboard Representation on marine operations.
  • Advice on the marine aspects of the maintenance and recovery of submarine cables.
  • Assessment of claims due to cables being fouled.

Sealine Marine Services was established by Barry Peck in 1990 after 23 years at sea, the last 7 of those years being with a major international telecommunications and cableship company as a Navigating and Cable Officer, with experience in all types of marine cable operations, followed by six years ashore with the same company as a manager in the Marine Planning and Cable Protection Department.

In 1995, together with Lumburn Consultants Limited, formed Neptune Associates, a group of independent consultants working in the subsea cable and pipeline industries. From 1999 to 2006 Neptune Associates was a member of the United Kingdom Cable Protection Committee.

Barry was Secretary of the International Cable Protection Committee from 1988 - 1997.
